SELLER OBLIGATIONS

  • The Seller, JS Exotic Persians Cattery, provides a 72-hour limited health warranty that the above kitten/cat is in good health and is free from upper respiratory infections, fleas and worms. The Seller also warranties that the kitten is free of the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) at the time of purchase.

  • This kitten is purebred and is sold as a pet only. The kitten has been registered with the CAT FANCIER'S ASSOCIATION (CFA) with NO BREEDING RIGHTS. Buyer agrees to spay/neuter this kitten prior to six months of age. The Buyer agrees never to breed this kitten.

  • If the kitten described above dies within one year of the date of purchase due to a congenital or hereditary defect, the Seller will replace the cat with a cat/kitten of similar or better quality or refund of all or part of the purchase price, at the discretion of the Seller. To determine if the cat's death has been caused by a congenital or hereditary defect, the Seller must receive proof of the defect in the form of a complete necropsy report, completed by a licensed veterinarian and performed at the Buyer's expense.

  • The Seller will have completed all age-appropriate vaccinations. A copy of the kitten's health record will be given to the buyer at the time of purchase. If the Buyer chooses to inoculate for feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), the warranty is invalidated. ***Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) FIP is a random mutation of the otherwise harmless coronavirus. There is no way for any breeder to prevent or avoid FIP, because we do not know what causes the mutation and we do not know why some cats get sick and others do not. The breeder is in no way responsible for a FIP diagnosis. However, given the substantial personal pain and shortened lifespan caused by FIP, the breeder will replace any kitten that dies from FIP before the kitten’s first birthday, ONLY upon receipt of the appropriate necropsy report. Reputable breeders do not vaccinate for FIP, and veterinary organizations do not recommend the available vaccine because it is largely ineffective and can even be harmful. Instead of vaccination, breeders focus on other preventive measures like proper sanitation, testing for FeLV/FIV, and isolating sick cats.

  • The Seller will provide the Buyer the kitten's CFA (Cat Fancier's Association) pedigree registration papers at the time of purchase or in a timely manner. The Kitten will have already been registered with the CFA by the Seller.

  • Seller warrants that Kitten was fully litterbox trained when Kitten left Seller's premises. However, new surroundings may confuse the Kitten and may result in improper elimination. Buyer needs to ensure that Kitten knows where its new litterbox is located, and Seller recommends that Buyer use the same type of litter used at Seller's premises (Boxiecat – Extra Strength Premium Clumping Clay), to avoid confusing the Kitten.

  • Seller makes no guarantees as to the Kitten’s temperament. We pride ourselves on socializing our kittens, but we cannot predict how the Kitten will act after it leaves the familiar environment of our cattery and its littermates. It is Buyer’s responsibility to slowly transition Kitten to its new home. Buyer acknowledges that some kittens may take longer than others to adjust to their new surroundings. Buyer must notify Seller immediately if kitten is not transitioning well into its new home (e.g. not using the litterbox, has diarrhea) so that Seller is made aware of any issues. If Buyer has any health or behavior concerns about the Kitten, Buyer must notify Seller of its concerns immediately. We cannot help you with these concerns if we are not aware of them. If more than 2 weeks have passed before Buyer notifies Seller of these issues, Seller disclaims any liability of responsibility for these issues.

BUYER OBLIGATIONS

  • The Buyer agrees to provide the cat with a clean, pleasant environment, conducive to good health and with adequate space for exercise. At least one litter box will be provided for each cat in the household and will be cleaned daily. The kitten/cat will not be caged unless absolutely necessary for the cats safety or health.   *** One common mistake new owner’s make is giving their Persian kitten free rein of the house too soon. It’s best to introduce them gradually over the course of a week or two, especially if you have other pets. Keep them separated initially, allowing them to get familiar with each other’s scent through a closed or screened door. Cats have an incredible sense of smell, and this slow introduction helps ease any tension. You can also place a blanket with the new kitten’s scent in the bed of your other pet to further aid in the process. Taking it slow ensures a smoother, less stressful transition.

  • The Buyer will provide the cat with proper nutrition in the form of a premium food. We feed and recommend Royal Canin Food. Fresh water will be provided daily.

  • The Buyer will provide the cat with proper veterinarian care and vaccines, and companionship. Any significant health conditions during the cat's lifetime will be reported to the Seller.

  • The Buyer agrees to spay/neuter kitten before 6 months of age.

  • The Buyer agrees the kitten/cat will live indoors only and will not let the cat roam outdoors. Letting the kitten/cat roam outdoors is a violation of this contract.

  • The Buyer will NOT declaw the kitten/cat. De-clawing is a violation of this contract.

  • The Buyer will not, under any circumstances, give, sell, or lease the kitten/cat to any animal shelter, research facility, laboratory, pet store, or other commercial or noncommercial enterprise. In the event that the Buyer can no longer keep the kitten/cat, the Seller will be contacted immediately as first option to assist in the placement of the animal.

  • We can assume no responsibility for allergies to the cat, disapproval of an existing or future landlord, damage to your property, or failure to train the cat to use the litterbox or scratching post. We will, however, unconditionally accept the cat back if it must be returned for any of those reasons. No refund of money will be made, and no replacement kitten or cat will be given.
